A great thing about Yerevan is that there are tons of taxis and, since they run on natural gas, they are really cheap. Nowhere within five kilometers should cost you more than 600 dram ($1.62). And, with seemingly as many taxis as people, you never have to wait more than a few seconds for one to appear. But best of all, are the names of the cab companies. Many names are in Armenian, and some in Russian. I've even seen one or two in Persian. The vast majority, however, are in English. Or at least they use the Latin alphabet. Some simply have a picture as their name, such as: a cougar; a wolf; Winnie the Pooh. Below is a list of some of our favorites:
